“The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.”
Patients, who participated in our research studies in the past, have made it possible that we now can stabilize most patients who suffer from recurrent mood disorders. Those who participate in our present studies pave the way for better understanding of mood disorders and more effective help in the future.
We place emphasis on patient education about emotional problems and available treatment options. Best results are achieved if patients learn more about their predicament and gradually take ownership of the problem, with us serving more and more as their advisers and consultants. We believe that patients who became stabilized can become excellent experts on the management of their own condition and on the prevention of recurrences. We strongly advocate educated self-help as an integral part of healing.
